Early in October, 2008, the Chi Rho youth led a pet blessing together with Pastor Laurel and with Pastor Charles who portrayed Francis of Assisi, a Christian monk who cared for animals. Nine dogs, seven kittens, a hamster and two cats (by proxy) were blessed and their people pledged their care for them.
